There’s this pesky little thing
That looms so large at times
those pages and pages of homework
that pile up as the clock ticks and chimes
Whoever did think up of this stuff
such a terrible terrible deed
If I ever do find that bloke
I’ll twist his neck indeed
I can never understand
Why mum and dad insist
That I meticulously finish
every homework on the list!
Math, English, Geography and History
The list is ever so long
Why don’t they dish out homework
using a watchmaker’s tongs
I wouldn’t be averse you know
To homework in tiny bits
They’d even be enjoyable
if they came in fun-filled kits
But somewhere there
at the back of my mind
I know that a diamond shines
only when an ordinary rock goes through a gruelling grind!
