It’s common knowledge that leopards are dotted
Surprising though if in Mumbai city they’re spotted!
This is a known fact, not a story concocted
Ever since I’ve heard this, I’ve been besotted
They sneak in at night when people snore
and dance in their backyards and their garbage explore
Humans being humans they raise a furore
They don’t want any leopards anywhere anymore!
But where will they go, these spotted big cats?
their forests have gone, and they don’t fancy rats
What if they decided to live in your flats
And grab you for breakfast with a little salt from your vats?
You’re top of the food chain, that’s what you think!
All that can change in a quick eye’s blink
If the leopards are gone, there’s be no water to drink
In the survival chain, we’re all just links!
