If you had a superpower
What power do you think it would be?
Would it be one that made people smile
or made them laugh with glee?
Do you think your superpower could
Feed a poor and hungry child?
Would it be able to stop deforestation
And return homes to animals in the wild?
Would your superpower help
In cleaning the air we breathe?
Would you be able with a flick of your wrist
to put our Earth in a protective sheath?
You know it’s great fun to see
Superheros dressed to impress
But look hard around you now
you’ll see some heroic works in progress
See that lean labourer
With stacks of bricks on his head?
He works all day to build your home
So you may sleep safe in your bed
Have you seen the farmer toil
Through blistering sun and rain?
He does that so that all may eat
healthy veggies and golden grain
A doctor in the hospital
A teacher in a school
They’re a special kind of heros
Don’t you think they’re cool?
That little boy who gives up his seat
In a bus, so a grandpa’s knees can rest
That cute and charming kindness
belongs to a little hero at his best
So think twice and think hard
The power of which you dream
Most probably you’ll find it within
Just waiting to be tapped and redeemed!
