I need to steal some glitter
from hummingbirds at rest
I’ll grab a pinch of violet
from rainbows at their best
Yellow from a bee’s legs
that’s where ripe pollen hangs
Blood red where will I ever find
If not in Dracula’s fangs?
I’ll never find green in Greenland though
It’s covered in ice I’m told
I’ll wait at the pond at sunrise
to collect some liquid gold
For the pink of perfect dreams, I’ll wait
for cherry blossoms to bloom
If I say thank you and pretty please
They’ll share some I assume
These are magical colours, you see
all my troubles worth
And I’m hoping and praying that I can paint
with them a brand new Earth!
